BTSALP Art Teacher

Position Open:   Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program Elementary Visual Art Teacher  

 

Hours: Part time (.50 FTE)

Salary: Per Box Elder Teacher Salary Schedule 

Contract Days: 183 per contract year

Job Description:  

Applications are now being accepted for an Elementary Visual Arts Teacher funded by the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTSALP).  BTSALP provides high quality arts instruction that primarily focuses on the integration of art with the Utah Elementary Core Standards.  Art teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to provide meaningful arts integrated instruction.  This is a one-year contract for the 2017-2018 school year.

Qualifications: 

1. Must hold a 4-year degree in art and a Valid Utah   Teaching license, or equivalent.  Candidates must be a licensed educator with a Valid Utah Teaching License with the corresponding art form endorsement.  Candidates must either hold a secondary license and K-12 endorsement in the art form, or an elementary license with an Elementary Level 2 Art Form Endorsement, or qualify for Alternative Route to Licensure.  2. Ability to work with classroom teachers to plan and integrate visual art instruction across the curriculum.  3. Excellent classroom management skills.  4. Excellent interpersonal relations skills.  5. Demonstrated knowledge of visual art pedagogy. Please submit a letter of interest, current resume, three letters of recommendation written within the last six months, and transcripts of all college and university credits.

Spanish speaking reading aide working with small groups of student in the dual-immersion program.
