Foundation Scholarships

Each year the BESD Foundation offers scholarships to eligible students throughout Box Elder School District. Currently there are 15 scholarships being offered. If you are a student who qualifies for one of these scholarships please contact your school guidance counselor.

Heber Lynne Orme Home Economics/Agriculture Scholarship

One boy and one girl one will receive a $1,000 scholarship for home economics and one scholarship for agriculture. Must have a copy of transcripts and two letters of recommendations.

Linda Kuwana Minority Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to an ethnic minority student who plans to attend college or vocational training after high school and who attends and will graduate from Bear River High. If there are no applicants Linda Kuwana may choose to recruit applicants or roll the money back to the Kuwana fund. This scholarship is for $1,000.

The Rudd Family Scholarship

This scholarship is for a Bear River High student who has been involved in agriculture in high School. This scholarship is for $1,000.

Timothy Craig Richards Scholarship

Two $1,000 scholarships will be given. Student must be enrolled at Bridgerland Technology College after high school in the Automotive Service or Auto Collision programs. Grade point average is 2.5.

Kaiser-Page Medical Scholarship

One scholarship for $1,000 is given. The scholarship is to be awarded to a graduate of Box Elder School District who wishes to pursue a career in any branch of medicine.

Calvin & Reva Wiggins Scholarship For Science/Engineering

This scholarship for $1,000 will be awarded to someone who is pursuing a career in mathematics, chemistry, physics, astronomy or other engineering fields. If GPA of “B” or better in science and/or engineering is maintained during first year of college a continued scholarship for the next year will be granted for $1,000.

Odd Fellows

This scholarship is created to fulfill the Independent Order of Odd Fellows mission to "educate an orphan."  The value of the scholarship is $1,000.  You can attend a trade school, college or university upon graduation.  Student must be a graduate of Bear River High and must have maintained a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale for their high school studies.  Applicants must show financial need as established by an essay to be written and submitted.  Applicants must be from a single parent home.  There is a chance for an additional year scholarship of $1,000 if student maintains a 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.

In Memory of Dale C. Young

A scholarship will be given from the Foundation in the amount of $3,000.  Student must be attending Box Elder High in the current school year.  You must be majoring in Education. Applicants must pick up an application from Dave Smith, Counselor at Box Elder High.  Two letter of recomendation needed and must have a GPA of 3.0 (attach transcripts).

Lowell and Colleen  Sherratt Scholarship

This scholarship is for $ 1,000.  Student must be graduating from Box Elder High with a 3.0 GPA.  Must be attending a university or 4-year college. Application can be picked up from Dave Smith, Counselor at Box Elder High.  Please make sure you complete an essay, attach two letters of recomendation and transcripts.

The Menlove Education Scholarship 
In Honor of their grandaughter " Daisy Emma Doutre"

Applicants must be majoring in Deaf Education.  If there is no applicant majoring in Deaf Education applicants that are majoring in Education will be accepted.  Student must be a graduate from Bear River High and planning on attending a university in Utah. Applicants must attach transripts to the application and type an essay in regard to the questions on the application.  The scholarship is $1,000.

The Jessica Ann Stokes Memorial Scholarship

Jessica Ann Stokes Memorial Scholarship is for up to $5,000.
