Staff hunted for hidden reindeer around the school today to win a gift card. Thanks to our sponsors Idle Isle, Twisted Sugar, and Peach City. All students and staff were invited to wear their reindeer antlers!

Golden Spike Elementary, To celebrate the 12 days until Christmas break, we have 12 days of Holiday Cheer! Feel free to dress up to welcome in the season! Monday: Merry Mindset Monday (wear anything that brings you joy this season) Tuesday: Antler Day Wednesday: Jingle All The Way (jingle bells) Thursday: Mad About Plaid Reminder, there is no school for students on Friday.

Congratulations to these awesome students for following the school rules of being safe, respectful, and responsible. There were SO many tickets and we appreciate all the students working on following the rules.

Golden Spike staff have been focusing on gratitude this month! Here is our “Wall of Gratitude” for November! We are so grateful for our students, amazing staff, and community.

Fifth-grade Chinese DLI students are practicing descriptive words. It is so fun to watch and hear their learning!

Second-grade STEM!!!

It is so fun to see each element of our school come to fruition. I especially love this! Students will be able to see how the air handling system works to control the temperature.

In STEM lab, Mrs. Volesky’s third graders read “The Magnificent Thing” and then created an invention to solve a problem! This is an in-home car wash!

Our first-graders performed a historical Halloween Program for their families on Thursday night. This is the first performance of Golden Spike Elementary and the 23rd year of this Halloween Program! Thanks to Mrs. Simpson for her talent in writing the program all those years ago, Mrs. Putnam for playing the piano, the first-grade teachers for teaching and supporting these efforts, Mrs. Anderson for helping with the art, our custodians for getting things set up, families for your support, and most of all our fantastic students for their energy and the joy they bring to us each day!

We loved having Big Blue come and help us start Red Ribbon Week and recognize healthy choices. Thanks to the PTO for organizing a fun week for us!

There is no school on Thursday and Friday, October 13-14 due to fall break. Enjoy!

Our students get to go to Mrs. Anderson each week for art class and they love it!

Golden Spike Open House, in conjunction with Parent Teacher Conferences, will be held on Wednesday October 5 from 4:30-7:30. Come have a treat, check out the book fair, and tour the school. Invite your neighbors…especially those that don’t have students attending the school.

We have an upcoming clinic for flu and covid on 10/11 from 4-7 at Golden Spike Elementary. If you are interested, please sign up for a designated time and then make sure you print off the encounter form PRIOR to saving it. Please bring this with you along with your insurance card as this will save alot of time once you arrive.
