2024 Annual Core Standards Survey https://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/utahcorestandards Each year, the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) administers an annual survey seeking feedback from educators, parents, students, and other interested community members on Utah’s Core Standards. Core Standards serve as the basic knowledge, skills, and competencies­ each student is expected to acquire or master as the student advances through the public education system. The survey provides USBE with key insights into potential need for revision to the current standards. You can review the current core standards by visiting https://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/utahcorestandards. The survey will be open for 30 days, from July 23 to August 23 and the results are expected to be reported to the Standards and Assessment Committee on September 6, 2025. Thank you in advance for your engagement in this feedback process.

College and Career Week is happening next week! We will have activities each day for them to learn about colleges and different careers. We have dress up days each day- please see flyer. Also- reminder to email me pictures or videos of you or people you know to showcase your job, what you do, and work environment. Email them to dacia.pitcher@besd.net by the end of the week 4/19 please. Thank you to those who have- the kids will love seeing people they know!

Hello North Park parent/guardians, We are planning college and career week and would love your inclusion! We want to put together a slideshow of pictures or videos of you at your job. This can include a picture of you in your uniform, a day in the life, or a short video stating your job title and showcasing your work environment. We want a big variety of jobs to show our students how diverse employment and careers can be! It doesn’t have to be you, it can be anyone you know. Below are some examples of what to submit. Please submit your pictures and videos to our counselor Mrs. Dacia. Her email address is dacia.pitcher@besd.net.

Check out this GREAT resource in Perry Utah. Parenting Pathways is hosting a dental exam onsite free of cost for those with Medicaid on Wednesday March 13 10am-2pm. They also have different and upcoming family classes and workshops. As well as drop in childcare. Check out the fliers for some more details.

Dear Parents and Guardians, We just wanted to inform you that during parent teacher conferences one of our district LCSWs will be present for you to meet with. These meetings are meant to educate and inform parents/guardians about options available to them for students who may be experiencing emotional difficulties or other mental health challenges. You are welcome to make an appointment by calling the school. You will be able to discuss your concerns and then work together to determine the best assistance available for your student.

North Park Parents, This is just another reminder that our new carpool procedure starts Monday. If you have not received your carpool number, please call the school to get that. This does not change anything for kids who ride the bus or walk. Scan the QR code for more instructions. The "Hidden Word" drawing from the video will be done today around 2:30. Treat day for the hundreds of kids that turned in their Owl 10 Goal papers! Great work everyone. Later this month we will be doing some parties and drawings for certain goals that were met. There might even be some drawings for the parents that have logged volunteer hours on the sheets so stay up to date with your emails. If your student hasn't turned in their Owl 10 sheets before, that is okay, they can start with November. If you happen to not have a goal sheet, head over to our website and under "Parents" you can find our current goal sheet. Goooo Owls!

The kids had a blast and we appreciate the high school athletes coming to help out... now to find a comfy spot on the roof to spend the night. I'll be sleeping on the school roof Tuesday the 17th.
